I bought some new stuff for my camera and I’m really excited to try them out. I bought a Nikon 35mm f/1.8 lens and the Nikon Speedlite SB-600. I have only done a few test shots in my basement so far but from what I’ve seen so far I’m really happy with my purchase, even the simple random test shots look great, I can’t wait to see what how it shoots in other situations. I figured I’ve had my camera for a while now and have pretty much hammered out all the basics so I decided to splurge on some new gear that I think is going to keep helping me grow as a photographer. So who wants to come shoot some pictures with me in the coming weeks?

So last night I went to the Downpresser/Minus/Powertrip show at the Metal Frat and shot some pictures. I took quite a few and posted a bunch of them on my flickr. I like this one the most out of all of the “crowd” shots I took, maybe because I’m partial to Louder than Bombs but that doesn’t really matter. I just posted up a bunch of pictures from the Transit/Louder Than Bombs show on Thursday at the Rack ‘N Roll in Riverview, MI. Most of the pictures came out really shitty because of the fog machine and stupid laser light show they had going on, these are the ones that I could somewhat salvage. The guy in this picture is Tim Macdonald, he always seems to have the best pictures, I really don’t know why.

Show tonight was amazing, Bane killed it as always, best set I’ve ever seen them play. Every band played great. I have 700ish pictures to go through from tonight, will probably be posting them in batches. I doubt I’m going to have them all up tomorrow but I’ll get a good amount of them done, 90% of them are going to be the ones that don’t need to be edited. Will be posting here when they’re done.
Bridge Nine records used one of my pictures I shot of Cruel Hand in their most recent blog post. I’m kind of blown away right now, never thought in a million years that would happen. Sure it’s not THAT big of a deal but I still think it’s pretty awesome.
